Qingdao Academy offers approximately 600 compulsory and optional courses for students in Grade 1 to 12. The school has also set up different levels for each course, such as standard level, higher level and honors levels for each course, to meet the academic requirements of different students.

Qingdao Academy will provide IBDP course for students planning to study abroad (Qingdao Academy is an IBDP candidate school). International Baccalaureate Organization(IBO) is an international not-for-profit educational foundation who is registered and recognized by the UNESCO in 1968. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is an assessed programme for students aged 16 to 19, aiming to foster students’ development of academic knowledge, understanding and skills while supporting personal growth towards being an independent learner and ready for the next step after graduation. Qingdao Academy devotes to helping students to become life-long learners as well as global citizen through this academically designed, challenging and balanced educational program.
The DP organizes teaching and learning through six subject groups, underpinned by the DP core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and CAS (Creativity, Action and Service). After negotiation with Counsellor and IB Coordinator, students should choose three High Level courses and three Standard Level courses. Besides six academic courses, students should also learn Theory of Knowledge, finish Extended Essay as well as actively participate in Creativity, Activity, Service programme. IBDP’s core components and special evaluation criteria make it a program of very high academic standards, which is respected by universities across the globe.
Students who successfully accomplish all the courses and requirements of IB will get the Diploma. The IB Diploma enables students to apply for over 2000 universities of the world, such as Harvard University, Yale University, Oxford Universities, Cambridge University and so on. Moreover, outstanding IB students may also get credit deduction, receive special scholarship, or even directly skip to study sophomore courses.
